In May 2013, it was confirmed that I have diabetes and high cholesterol and I have been on medication since December 2013. On 12 October 2014, Rev Teresia Wairimu visited PLMC and delivered a sermon on faith – specifically, the faith of Elisha and Peter. Elisha was a farmer but he slaughtered his oxen and burned his ploughing equipment to follow Elijah. Peter, a fisherman, forsook his net to follow Jesus.
There was no altar call for healing but Rev Teresia prayed that God wanted to heal 5 diabetics and another person with impaired hearing. Immediately, I told God I wanted to be one of the 5. After the service, as I was leaving the Sanctuary, a word came to me: stop taking the medicine. I followed the faith of Peter and stopped taking the medicine that very night.
About two weeks later, I bought a blood-glucose monitor and tested my levels every two weeks for the past four months and I discovered that my sugar level has gone down!
Two months ago, I went for my yearly health screening and the doctor con¬firmed that no medication is required as my sugar level has gone down to borderline (I am still praying for the healing of high cholesterol). To God Be the Glory! – Patricia Chan
