The Peranakan Ministry of Paya Lebar Methodist Church had its humble beginnings as a Malay Prayer Service in 1934 by Rev Chew Hock Hin. In 1961, the Peranakan Service began and the Peranakan Fellowship was added on Saturday afternoons.
With Christ as the Head, the Peranakan Ministry would persevere and cater to the needs of the unique culture of the Peranakans at PLMC.
We aspire to bring the Good News and to be like Mary..sitting at the feet of Jesus and be doing the one very thing that is needful, and that is to be drawing from Him, to be receiving afresh His grace, love and blessings every day of our lives.
We meet at 7.30am at Jordan Hall for worship the first Sunday of each month. Other regular activities during pre-Covid days include the Peranakan Fellowship on Saturdays, Peranakan Retreat, Fellowship Tea and a Skit cum Christmas Evangelistic Party. Do join us when able!
At present, our Peranakan Service is on the first Sunday of each month at 7.30am at the Jordan Hall. The Saturday 4.00pm Fellowship at Jerusalem Room has been suspended till the Covid-19 situation improves.
