Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a healthy spiritual life of the congregation, through preaching, teaching, mentoring and organising of activities for the congregation.

Requirements

  • Degree in Theology or equivalent
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience in pastoral care ministry
  • A winsome team leader who is able to work with diverse groups of people
  • An independent worker with good pastoral and organisational skills
  • Proficiency in Chinese language is necessary as the incumbent will be working closely with Mandarin-speaking church members
  • Good command of English is preferred

Job Scope

Reporting to his/her immediate supervisor, the incumbent will be involved in both counselling and management of clients. As a team leader, he/she will assist in developing the counselling ministry, and work together with a team of volunteers in delivering effective counselling services to our clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional counselling services to individuals, couples, families and groups, and preferably possess some knowledge to counsel child and youth clients, to improve their well-being
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of counselling programmes on clients’ progress in resolving identified problems
  • Collaborate and network with Supervisor and other staff members as part of clients’ treatment plans, and recommend and implement areas for improvement
  • Prepare and maintain proper documentation of case records
  • Develop and conduct training and workshops to enhance the well-being of the community


Requirements

  • Minimum Degree in Counselling or equivalent
  • At least 3-5 years of relevant experience in pastoral care and counselling work
  • Dedicated and passionate about advocating the importance of mental health
  • A team player who is able to work collaboratively with other ministries
  • Proactive self-starter with analytical and creative mind, and ability to work independently
  • Possess good organizational, communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills

Job Scope

Reporting to Director of Outreach, the incumbent is responsible for the execution of the church’s Outreach ministry programmes that serve the various communities within the 5-km radius of the church.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the pool of co-workers in terms of recruitment, deployment and scheduling to ensure sustainable execution of the Outreach programmes for the various beneficiary groups served by the church
  • Mobilise, train and motivate co-workers to ensure the church’s Outreach ministry and programmes remain vibrant and effective. This includes enlisting the right people to champion different ministry programmes
  • Ensure proper coordination of all the ministry programmes
  • Review the effectiveness of ministry programmes periodically
  • Lead person on staff team attending to requests for ad-hoc financial aid
  • Process cases of financial aid referrals from our Outreach arms and partners
  • Assist in the review and preparation of an annual budget to support the various Outreach ministries
  • Network with other churches and organisations to have greater understanding of community work

Requirements

  • Degree or professional qualification equivalent
  • A genuine interest in community issues and people, and a strong passion to work towards making a difference among the various communities
  • At least 3 years of relevant working experience in planning, resourcing and executing community outreach programmes
  • A team player, with strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in event organisation and management

Job Scope

Reporting to Director of Pastoral Care, the incumbent is responsible for planning, organising and coordinating various ministry activities to provide emotional, social and spiritual support to our members and worshippers in their times of need.

Responsibilities

  • Execute an effective system of providing pastoral care and support to members at times of bereavement, prolonged illness and other life crises.
  • Coordinate and conduct hospital and homebound visitations
  • Recruit, train and work alongside co-workers who are serving in the pastoral care ministry
  • Provide direction to couples in their church wedding preparations and ensure that they adhere to PLMC’s guidelines for solemnisation and blessing of marriage
  • Work closely with pastors and staff to ensure that wedding services run smoothly and according to plan
  • Assist to coordinate with pastors and bereaved families for wake and funeral arrangements, and conduct wake services
  • Provide regular updates of the church’s pastoral needs and prayer concerns to members in a timely manner

Requirements

  • Theological diploma/degree, or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of relevant experience in church setting and/or pastoral care ministry
  • A team player, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Possess a shepherd’s heart and desire to provide care for people at their point of need
  • An independent worker, with strong organisational skills

Job Overview

The Ministry Executive works closely with the Pastor overseeing the Youth Ministry to lead and grow the young people in PLMC, to see them growing deeper in Word, Spirit and community, and going further to extend God’s Kingdom. He/she will build a strong foundation for progression into church community life through cells. He/she will also equip and encourage our youths and co-workers to teach God’s Word and become disciple-makers.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute the vision and mission of the Youth Ministry in accordance with God’s calling for PLMC
  • Build a vibrant Youth Ministry; including –
    • Integrating youths into church life
    • Planning and coordinating camps and events for youths
    • Developing a mentoring programme for youths by recruiting, engaging, training and supporting co-workers from within the congregation
    • Raising youths to become disciple-makers
  • Provide pastoral care and counselling for the youths
  • Oversee the discipleship of youths and health of cells through visiting the cells, and providing pastoral guidance and leadership to youth cell leaders and adult co-workers
  • Be involved in recruitment, engagement, and relationship development with co-workers, youths and their families
  • Plan for leadership succession with the Pastor overseeing Youth Ministry

Requirements

  • Diploma/Degree with prior experience working with youths, or in Christian ministry work
  • Keen passion for working with and developing young people
  • Desire to grow in theological knowledge and understanding of contemporary youth culture
  • Possess practical skills in pastoral counselling and discipleship
  • Willingness to work on weekends and non-traditional schedules
  • A team player with strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Scope

As part of the church Communications team, the Communications Executive is responsible for the effective communication of the church vision and mission, and the publicity and promotion of its events and activities.

Responsibilities

  • Manage social media for PLMC
  • Manage PLMC website
  • Assist in publicity and promotion of church events and in archiving of church records

Requirements

  • Diploma or degree in digital media, mass communication, multimedia or related disciplines
  • Minimum two years experience in corporate communications or marketing with hands-on social media management portfolio
  • Enjoy working on creative projects
  • Meticulous in attention to detail and a good track record in multi-tasking
  • Good command of spoken and written English essential. Strong command of Mandarin will be an advantage
  • Strong computer skills: in particular, a sound knowledge of Desktop Publishing tools and design software like Indesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, WordPress etc
  • Basic photography skills and knowledge of photographic equipment is an advantage
  • Must be able to work on Sundays

Position: Programme Staff (Part Time), Hope Student Care Centre

The Programme staff supports the Superintendent in the development of programs for students. She/He will be responsible for assisting in the day-to-day operations of the Student Care Centre, which includes but not limited to the following:

  1. Implement and executes programs for the students 

  2. Supervise and guide the children (Primary 1 to 6) in their study to ensure completion of daily homework

  3. Guide students in creating good habits in their daily lives

  4. Provide a secure, caring, and loving environment for the students in the Centre.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and provide guidance to the students in their studies. 

  • Provides students with opportunities to grow. 

  • Supervise the students in terms of their behaviour and learning habits. Always use positive disciple techniques.

  • Plans, prepare, and execute programs with the Staff to enhance the total development of the students.

  • Assist with administrative duties (Enrolment, collection of forms) and upkeep of centre premises. 

  • Ensure safety and timely transfer of students from school to student centre. 

  • Preparation of progress reports for each student. 

  • Participates and support in the Centre’s programmes. (In-house, Outdoor and Outreach)  

  • Performs all other related duties described herein or such other duties as shall be assigned by the Superintendent from time to time.

Requirements

  • Minimum “O” Level or higher with tutoring experience with Primary school students is advantageous  

  • Able to teach Primary School Subjects 

  • Passionate about working with children 

  • Possess good communication and classroom management skills 

  • Creative and loving energy with a positive disposition 

  • Computer Skills – Microsoft Office and Google Suite
