Laity Month

The Methodist Church in Singapore observes Laity Sunday on the second Sunday in October.
It recognises the work and ministry of lay Christians to love God and our neighbour.

As PLMC has been blessed with many lay ministries, we are observing Laity Month instead.
Each Sunday in October, we will highlight different ministries and what they do, as well as opportunities for you to serve in.

MINISTRY SPOTLIGHT

SUNDAY, 5 Oct 2025

Children's Ministry

📍Michael Room

Highlights: Bring your kids for some fun at the activity stations in Michael Room. Get a taste of what goes on in our Silver Boxes Children’s Ministry on Sundays for children aged 1 to 12 years old. Speak to us if you would like to join us to serve the little ones and bring them up in the love and knowledge of God, their Saviour Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

Youth Ministry

Highlights: The Youth Ministry seeks to raise a generation of youths who will boldly love and serve God. We seek to disciple and foster their spiritual growth through (i) age-specific cell groups, led by older youths and young adults; (ii) significant events that facilitate encounters with God such as Prayer & Worship Night, retreats and youth camp; (iii) a curriculum that helps to deepen their love of God’s Word, and to apply their faith; (iv) fun bonding activities to build community; and (v) reaching out to love those around them. Stand together with us as generations unbroken – we ask for your prayers, support and, if so led, participation in this ministry to our youths. Come speak to us!

Ministry to Young Adults

Highlights:

The Ministry to Young Adults seeks to encourage and empower young adults as God’s Kingdom Professionals, entering every sphere of the marketplace to reflect and express God’s will and intent, on earth as it is in heaven.

At our booth, have a go at a Spin the Wheel game where you’ll engage with questions relevant to young adult life, and enjoy a light bite. Take the opportunity to connect, discover more about the ministry, and be encouraged in your journey of faith and work.

Communications

Highlights: Communications is looking to build a team of content creators for our social media, website, and to support events and ministries. If you are interested in writing, photography, graphics design, web design, or videography, drop by for a chat!

Highlights: Our Worship & Music Ministry encompasses a wide range of creative expressions. There are various opportunities to serve as worship leaders, band and ensemble musicians, singers, choir members, ushers/greeters, floral stewards, prophetic artists. dancers and worship flaggers.

Glowing Years Ministry

Highlights: GYM organises various activities to keep seniors engaged for active and healthy ageing. The monthly Senior Connect is held every second Thursday, Stretch & Tone classes (Tuesday night and Friday morning), while the monthly Discovery Walks bring members through nature and different parts of Singapore. Also popular are Line Dance (Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays) and Ukelele (fortnightly on Tuesday) – catch their joint presentation today!

Women's Society of Christian Service

Highlights: WSCS brings women in PLMC together to 1. Grow spiritually through Discipleship & Nurture courses; 2. Befriend ladies in our community (visitation to homebound, mothers of newborns, and distressed ladies) through our Outreach and Social Concerns ministry; 3. Sponsor the education of needy children with poor backgrounds and send pre-loved clothes overseas under our Missions ministry; and 4. Participate in Witness & Evangelism events with TRAC WSCS.
