WHAT IS THE GOSPEL? Not the gospels (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) – the gospel. Many of us think that the gospel is simply summed up in the various formulas we use in personal evangelism. But what is it, really? We think we do, but even the apostle Peter did not seem to get right leading Paul to publicly rebuke him (Galatians 2:11-14). Paul saw that it was necessary for him to deal with the subject “so that the truth of the gospel might be preserved for you.” (Galatians 2:5). What is this truth that is at the heart of the gospel? This two-session course will examine Paul’s answer to that question, and its relevance for today.
