Twenty years ago, I felt a calling to missionary work, but life got in the way. Health issues and difficult circumstances kept me "captive," unable to serve. That was until 2024, when I returned to church and surrendered completely to God's will, praying: "Send me wherever You want me to go."

God's timing is truly perfect. Through PLMC's Year of Expansion in 2025, I signed up for a mission trip. God connected me with the El Shaddai (ES) team through church mission members like Sister Daphne Thong and Brother Tay Soo How. I joined a team of 14, led by Dr. Philip Eng and his wife, whom I had previously met during a PLMC study tour to Turkey and Greece.

Each of us contributed our unique gifts: logistics, medical expertise, scribing, dental talks, IT, and photography. Leveraging my finance background, I served as the team treasurer. Because this was my very first mission trip, fear occasionally crept in—I worried about whether I could contribute enough physically and mentally. But through prayer, God worked everything out
for good.
El Shaddai 005On February 10, 2026, we hosted a heartwarming "Life to Life" dinner with Pakistani families. We also conducted a three-day school outreach from February 8–11, 2026, where we screened over 800 pupils. Among them, 403 needed spectacles and 17 were found to be colour blind. Seeing these children in such deep need impacted me profoundly.Yet, God's provision amazed me. The ES director successfully secured local support and funding, far exceeding our target of RM 4,280 with SGD 4,050 donated as of February 28, 2026.
This is truly the beauty of God's love—abundant provision for His children.
Amen.
