Ezra Lay Institute is a training center in Paya Lebar Methodist Church with the expressed aim to equip leaders with foundational theological understanding and ministry skills, rooted in the Wesleyan tradition. Our mission is to empower effective servant-leaders, foster spiritual growth, and impactful service within their church, communities, and the nations.
We achieve this aim through a program of theological education on a basic-level based sound doctrine, essential spiritual formations, Wesleyan perspectives, and academic excellence. Our program consists of 10 modules providing a comprehensive foundation for effective ministry and servant-leadership.
Ezra Lay Institute is open to individuals who are seeking to enhance their knowledge and skills, especially individuals who are serving in leadership roles in the church. This training is suitable for cluster leaders, cell leaders, and ministry leaders.
The program consists of 10 modules that cover the essentials of theology, Bible, spiritual formation, and ministry skills. The different modules are listed here:
Each module comprises of lectures, tutorials, readings, and assignments. Students will also learn to apply their knowledge through practical applications during the class. Students will be assessed through a variety of ways, such as practicum and writing reflective papers.
Each module is 10 weekly sessions of 2 hours each week. Students are expected to devote another 2 hours weekly for their self-study and for doing their assignments. The total hours required for each module is 40 hours.
The modules are taught by the pastors and the ministry staff in Paya Lebar Methodist Church or invited lecturers who specialized in the respective areas. Lecturers and trainers are theologically trained and with experience in their respective areas.
All the courses will be conducted within the premise of Paya Lebar Methodist Church.

Potential candidates must have recommendations from cluster/cell/ministry leaders.
